Today’s xkcd is awesome.

I have an unnatural fear of mirrors that stems from fourth graders playing Bloody Mary in the bathrooms at Weibel when I was a first grader and watching too many scary movies involving reflections having lives of their own. I’m terrified that if I look in the mirror for too long, my reflection’s going to walk off without me or reach out and stab me in the eyes or something.

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone! Try not to get murdered by your reflections today.

  • Last night, I played Portal at Bobby’s place. Now I can’t stop thinking about shooting portals in my walls or how nice it would be to have one in Next House and another one somewhere on campus.
  • I love Omar’s cat, Bella. This xkcd comic has never been more true, except maybe with my Tabby.
  • Steaming mugs of hot chocolate are good for the mind and soul, but only good for the body if lactose-free.
  • It really sucks when you’re in the shower and you here a muffled thunk from the pipes above you, meaning someone else has also turned on a shower, meaning in a few seconds, your water is going to be freezing cold.
  • The slopes in the northeast are so cute. As in it’s really cute what Wachusett and Nashoba Valley think are blues and blacks.
  • Here, have some more cute.

After roughly 14 hours in transit last Thursday (omg), I am finally home in sunny California! Yeah, right. It’s cold and dreary and supposed to be raining until New Year’s. What the heck, California? This is the second time in recent memory you have broken my heart. But lucky that I left on Thursday, because so many people are stuck in Boston right now due to blizzards. Best of luck getting out, you guys! Please don’t starve…

Weather aside, home is absolutely wonderful. Every morning, I can sleep until whenever-I-wanna o’ clock, then walk barefoot into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. And the bathroom is clean. CLEAN. Well, minus my sister’s junk all over the place, but there are no toothpaste blobs in the sink or random boxers lying around. And I can take a shower BAREFOOT! In a shower with water pressure! And really hot water! Halleluja!

And after that? I can go into the kitchen and my mommy will make me breakfast (or lunch or dinner, as the time may be)! I’d try to help her of course, but she’d push me away, insisting that I’d ruin her kitchen. I’m not sure if she’s being serious or not, so I’m still deciding whether to be offended or not.

My only gripe with home is that the toilet seats are always freezing cold.

I haven’t done anything at home so far. I’ve just been watching TV, knitting, reading, and generally vegging out. I’ve already finished the 7th Harry Potter book. Every winter break, I try to re-read the entire Harry Potter series, but I thought I’d do it backwards this year, just to mix things up.

I’ve also been itching to go snowboarding since about July. Snowboarding must happen soon, or I may start deteriorating inside my head. For example, I found a green felt pen yesterday, and went around the house labeling objects in Chinese. Including my parents. I wrote 爸爸 on my dad’s face while he was sleeping. He wasn’t happy when he woke up, but it was pretty funny. :D

So! Snowboarding? Anyone?

Also: Today’s xkcd is pretty epic. BIO MAJORS RULE!

I’ve been catching up on my Sinfest (read: starting), because xkcd, Questionable Conten, Indexed, The Abominable Charles Christopher, and Honeydew Syndrome aren’t enough. I noticed something interesting in this particular strip. Do you see it? 小叮噹 (Doraemon) is smoking a cigar in the background painting! What the hell! That’s so awesome. xD

While I’m at it linking things, have some more.

Edit 8:39pm: One more: Rabbits eating lettuce. AAAIIIEEEE BUNNIIEESS! ^^
