…’cause it’s my blog and I can.

This Wednesday, TKD is having a fundraiser called Kick-a-Thon. We’ll be throwing 1000 kicks (each!) and breaking boards as well. The money we raise is split between the Special Olympics (we’re a platinum sponsor), the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association, and our club.

If you’d like to donate, there are a couple ways to do it. You can donate per kick (i.e. a penny per kick = $10 total), as a flat donation, or by buying a board for $5. You can write stuff on the board (like a question from your thermo pset or the face of your least favorite ex…), and I’ll break it using a method of your choice. Since I’m a n00b-y yellow belt, my repertoire of kicks is rather limited. HOWEVER, you can also opt to have second degree black belt Bobby break it in some kickass fashion.

If you’re on campus, you are very welcome to come watch the splinters fly. If you can’t make it, I’ll have my camera there (and possibly my laptop+webcam), so your personal board break will be captured on video and sent to you. If you’d like, I can mail you the pieces of the board, too. :)

Please do consider donating because this is really important to us. It not only supports the club in what we do, but also helps support the sport of taekwondo and the spirit of athletes who are bent but not broken.

And another picture of how fierce Bobby is, for emphasis. You know you want to see him kick the crap out of a board.

(Why, no, I’m not whoring him out for charity at all.)

If you’d like to donate, please either email me or leave a comment. Thank you all so much! :)
